In the old days, a child's padrinos (godparents) assumed important roles in the child's life, acting as second parents and ensuring that the child receives a proper religious upbringing. Here we see a gathering to celebrate a baptism in front of the house of Melquiades Ortega in the Plaza del Cerro.

Antiguamente, los padrinos de un niño recién nacido desempeñaban un papel importante en su vida, actuando com si fueran padres y asegurando que el niño recibiera una crianza religiosa adecuada. Aquí se ve una reunión para celebrar un bautismo en frente de la casa de Melquiades Ortega en la Plaza del Cerro.
